I"m at secrets Capri :)

Just a real quick note for anyone who has been worried about the damage done here at secrets capri during last weeks storm. I'm here to tell you that I can't find any real noticable destruction. We arrived this afternoon as workers were importing tons of sand and spreading it throughout the beach. By 5 p.m. it looked like they were done. I haven't noticed any mold, mildew, broken ceilings, or anything reported in the photos posted. New plantings have been put in all along the beach area, and all but three papala's are up along the beach. Looks like secrets workers have gotten things all tidy in a short amount of time.

Other than that, food's been GREAT, service outstanding, the pool is fabulous, and our room is absolutely to die for!

I'll be checking mail throughout the week, so if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask

Thanks for posting! It's good to hear that things are repaired from the storm damage. I do have a few questions. Can you tell me what the beach looks like? Is the water murky? Where is your room located and which category is it? Is there a website where spa prices are posted? How is the evening entertainment?

The wife & I will be at Secrets 7/31-8/7. Curious about your room, we booked a ocean view suite, how are the rooms & view? Also, heard beach wasn't that great. Is it that bad? We usually hang around the pool, is it as good as advertised? One last thing, the wife is very comfortable going topless, is it acceptable at the pool or just the beach?

We are going October 31 - November 6, and right now we are booked at Aventura Spa Palace - wondering if I should change resorts - when will you be going?

We are going September 29th - October 5 (celebrating our 22nd anniversary on Oct 2nd). I had looked at the ASP also but I need to have a real beach- we are beach walkers. Also it was a lot larger than Secrets and after having stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso last year we didn't want another huge resort.
I think either choice will be great as long as the main things you are looking for are there. We wanted ala carte rest with no reservations, good beach, adults only, not too large, with a bar on the beach. The evening activites are unimportant to us as the nights we want to "party" we would rather go into Playa.

Conanc: If you're looking for a great beach, choose elsewhere. I came here knowing the beach was subpar, and it is. The beach is beautiful to look at, but not great for swimming; although today was a wonderful day for sailing!! If you e-mail the resort spa from the web page, they will give you an attached file of all the prices. I'll be uploading those into my web page also.

Hargman: Our room is the Melana Suite. 3rd floor ocean front, not ocean view. There are only 4 of these type of suites in the place, and like I said it is AMAZING! I have seen the ocean view rooms and they are very nice also. I'll write down some room numbers of what I feel would be 'prime rooms' and put them in my review. The pool is as good as advertised. For some reason, secrets has a way of making a pool incrediably appealing (although this pool pales in comparison to the pool at Secrets in PC), we have managed to spend every day IN the pool, not laying around it

. Your wife will be fine going topless on the beach, I saw about 10 topless women just today.

Holly: I can't advice whether or not you should change, but I can tell you that I've taken nearly 30 Caribbean trips including 14 cruises, and this resort ranks right up there with the best. I'll put more in my review, but there are things about Secrets Capri that really put it a notch above anywhere I've stayed and I've stayed ALL over lol

Robino: Secrets Capri and Secrets Excellence are very similar, I'd give the edge to Secrets Excellence in the following areas: Pool, Entertainment, Rooms. I'll give the edge to Capri in Service and food. That's the brief, more to come in the review of course
