Go in October Bump. We went from 1-10 October, Mass, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Trees were turning In Vermont, and New Hampshire (higher elevation). It snowed the first night, not enough to worry about but added a nice background to the trees. Enough to Close Mount Washington. We also went whale watching out of Bar Harbor, and out on the Cape in Mass. A great but too short trip.

Thinking of old terms and vocabulary always makes me think about how my kids are growing up. My oldest is 10 and my youngest will be 3 in August. They are growing up in a world of DVD's and have no idea what it is like to wait for a tape to rewind, let alone growing up without VCR's. The only place I could see a movie was at the movie theater. They have MP3 players with instant access to thousands of songs in seconds in a case that is smaller than a cassette tape (another item they have never used). Albums, 8 tracks, don't even bother.
They start using computers before they can read and when they want to change the channel on the TV they push a button. TV's have 100's of channels not 5 or 6. The concept of UHF and VHF has no meaning to them. Being the youngest of 4 boys, when my brothers wanted to change the channel they smacked me in the back of the head and told me which channel they wanted to watch. The concept of a cord on a phone is completely foreign to them, let alone not having a cell phone. They have DVD players in their cars (not my cars, but their freinds). And through the internet they have instant access to endless porn (oh wait, thats me) It's no wonder kids and parents don't get along, we're from different generations. JT |

OMG!! I STILL have this game in my basement! It was my brother's but I took it when he wasn't looking. :o I also still have the original, from the 60's...Monopoly, Trouble, Twister, What Shall I be? and Candyland...AND a Nok Hockey board that my kids STILL use before they'll use their air hockey table! |

Shammy;
I guess I must have been living under a rock or something. I have to admit this is the first time I've noticed some of the detail on your signature. I guess I just sort of glanced at it before, gave it a cursory examination, noted that it was an appealing, and engaging, animated graphic, but never twigged to the fact that it has its own cast of characters in that tree. Wait...there's Sunseekers...yeah, and Tex, there's Cuffedlinks...uh huh, there's sctx...oh, and Critter made an appearance...and Tyra just dropped out...and Denise...boy, this is just like one of those awards shows, or something, but I recognize these celebrities. |

I LOVED that game
I loved Rebound. My brother got it one year for Christmas and we skidded those little plastic-encased ball bearings around that game board for hours and hours. Like shuffleboard for the elementary-school set... no wonder your grandfather had an affinity for the game....

Of course I remember Romper Room!
And what about Wonderama with Bob McCalister? I used to love when they would make those kids eat a bunch of saltine crackers and then try to whistle! And just a note...I once was on the original Bozo show. Got picked to come on down and play a game where we had to pass a rubber band to each other via straws in our mouths. My team lost and all I got was a Bozo frisbee...and a memory! ![]() |

By all means take me up on it. I absolutely love to cook![drink too] tho not such good vintages. My man loves his cigar every day or two, & appreciates a good merlot more than I do.Do a google on Newburyport,Ma. We live in next town north on N.H. line. Wide & beautiful beaches. A state park in my town with great campsites,tenting areas,right on beach. I have a pass!lol.Historic houses,great shopping,lots of cool watering holes,including my son's bar! Looking forward to the Bumpas coming!!...Gail
