Being both a golfer (That's my story and I'm sticking to it - to quote a friend) and sort of long in the tooth, this rather appealed to me.
Two really old guys decided they would go out and try to play a round of golf together. They get out to the first tee and the first old guy says to the second, “My eyesight isn’t what it used to be. Can you keep your eye on my ball for me?” The second guy says, “Sure. I see just fine. Go ahead and hit!” So the first old man steps up to the tee and really hits one. He turns to his pal and says, “Did you see it?” “Sure!”, says his buddy. “Where did it go?”, the first guy asks. The second old man thinks for a minute and says, “I can’t remember.” |

Good one, Bump!! Reminds me of when I used to play golf with my dad (maybe twice a year). His eyesight was very poor, so it was up to me to watch for where his ball went. No problem there.
But when it was my turn...... well, as most golfers know, one of the worst things you can to do to your swing is lift your head when hitting. And when you're anxious to see where YOUR ball is going since your father CAN'T see....... well, suffice it to say that when I chose my clubs, it was "gee, which club do I want to top it with THIS time??" What I wouldn't give to have another round of topping my shots with my father on a warm summer day........ |

Rainman!!! Good to see ya!!! Been wonderin' where you've been, dude! As for golf, don't worry about losing your balls. Just bring Mrs. Rainman along with ya, and she'll keep an eye on 'em for ya!! :p And if you do lose them then your stance is too wide, and you're standing waaaaaaay too close to the tee! But if all else fails, just hang at the 19th hole ![]() |

Oh, Donna!! Another dad memory!! My dad used to watch "Cops" sometimes, and he'd be silly and sing along with that theme song - and he usually sang it to the cat, Phoof! And get this one: picture a 70-year-old dignified gentleman ("gentleman" was how the nurses always described him) imitating the dance the gopher would do at the end of the "Caddyshack" movie! "I'm alllllll right!!......" I'm so glad I inherited his sense of humor... although he'd never say some of the things I've said! As for me coming out of my shell and being naughty....... I guess my cover has been blown! Oh, well.... it was nice while it lasted! :pAnd let's be honest here..... it's YOU GUYS who bring it out in me!!!!!!! ![]() |
