You can't go wrong with Courvoisier, Gail. It's perfectly good brandy, widely available, and reasonably priced, mostly. You can also get the real high end varieties of Courvoisier for up to about two grand a crock, but let's us be realistic, shall we. I didn't intend to denigrate it in any way. As far as your education goes...just remember...knowledge is it's own reward, and the homework is so much fun!
