IB tucan/quetzel bugspray?
It looks like from all the hotel pics I`ve seen that the rooms are set up in a jungle like setting. My question is in Oct/Nov if your sitting out on your balcony, how bad are the bugs? Also any suggestions on which bldg to stay in?I`ve read that on the quetzel side the birds can be very loud in certain bldg..Thanks.lara :

If memory serves me correctly, the Flamingo Pond is directly in front of the 2700 building, so I'd say Bldgs. 2600, 2700, and 2800 might be a bit noisy from time to time (and more so if your room is facing in toward the center of the resort rather than away toward the resort next dor). We were in Bldg. 2100 which was the closest to the beach without having a suite (the oceanview rooms are the suites - no surprise there!). But I recommend doing what I always do: bring earplugs. It depends on how deep a sleeper you are, and I tend to wake easily to any noise. Even the "normal" birds would wake me around 6 AM, so I'd leave the ear plugs on the nightstand to be handy for me to pop in and go back to zzzzzzz land! Don't know about the bugs in the fall. Have only been there in May/June. |

We were there last September, and I don't remember any bugs. We didn't sit on our balcony much, but I generally don't remember any bugs. But, you still need to bring bug spray! The setting is jungle like, and it is pretty neat.
We stayed on the Tucan side, in building 11, I believe. It was very quiet, and just steps away from the beach and pool! Have fun! |
