I just got my first tatoo back in March. I was totally nervous about getting it - I was afraid it would hurt like hell. But in all honesty, it was more of an annoying feelling rather than a painful one. Kinda like a cat scrathing you.... continuosly. Mine is on my lower back, about 5 in. in diameter. So maybe it hurts less there....however, the next morning it hurt like hell! Like a really bad sunburn. Overall, I gave it a 6 on a pain scale of 10. Completely tolerable, so long as you don't get one in any "delicate" areas!
