replying to PM's

Ok - i consider myself a pretty computer literate person, but, for some reason can not find the reply to icon for private messages. I see forward. I see quote. I click on the senders hyperlink and get a drop down menu but it doesn't include reply to - i only see "send this person a pm".... am i going blind or do i just need to up my prescription? thanks for the help.

Local:

Maybe I'm not understanding your question, but here's my try at an answer:

When you click on "Quote", it acts the same as if you did that in a thread. It shows the person's original PM to you, and then you can type in your reply beneath it.

When you click on Submit Reply, there it goes. You are then sending a PM reply to the person.

If you want to reply without having to view the quote, just delete the quote part when it's on your screen. I don't think their original PM to you is viewed by them in your reply (but I could be wrong... I make mistakes every 10 years or so)

Hope this helps!

Use the "quote" button to reply to a private message. This will help you to answer the message completely and it will help the recipient remember what they had messaged you about. A handy tool for us "senior" members, who have trouble remembering things.

Me too

I work on 'puters for a living, and I went through the "where the #^@+ is the reply button" myself. "Quote" just isn't all that intuitive. 2005?

I looked for it too.

It's a known oversight in the template for the private message system. There's a patch that adds a button for reply, but I haven't updated the system yet... partly because I really prefer people to quote me back what the conversation is. Otherwise I get replies like:

"OK, that sounds good. Please make that happen."

and I have to go figure out who's talking about what.

Hey, D:

Sounds like Bumper must've had some input on that feature, right??
