I'm proud to say I've eaten both of them, and lived to tell about it!
As part of a scavenger hunt in Oaxaca, the kids had to find and purchase a bag of chapulines (fried grasshoppers). When the first group returned to the hotel and presented their bag, I dug in and put a small handfull in my mouth and ate them. I thought a couple of the girls were going to pass out!
I didn't really care for the huitlacoche, tho...something about the color...it was a little to "dark" for my taste!
I wish we could join you for your "tour" but we'll be searching out our own little authentic places before you do! Don't think I'll try any udders, brains, or the like, tho! I'm more of a mole gal.
