Stewart, our last two days in Playa we ventured over the the "other" side of 307 and had some of the best Tamales at the side of the road, and we also ate tacos, sopes and gorditas at little stands. No pics or names to share though

The plan was to drive around a bit and hand out little toys and goodies to the kids. I loved watching their faces when we handed them their baggies. We saw groups eating at various corners and we couldn't resist giving it a try. The people seemed a bit surprised to see us in our rental car, but were very welcoming. There is an El Pastorcito II as well. I was saddened at the condition of the roads and neighbourhood there when just a few minutes drive away the "other half" seems to be living like the rich and famous
Hope your venturing out takes you to the most unlikely corners of QR. There is so much more to experience away from 5th.
