It was a territorial war. The commies were taking all of Eastern Europe and Asia. We needed a piece of land to plant some WMD in case sh*t hit the fan. We force the South Viets into a war they didn't even want. The 'advisors' were not engaging but were right next to the SV troops making sure they didn't miss. We needed an excuse to fight them, when they didn't give us one, we went in anyways. Much like the way we took half of Mexico. The History channel has it all on DVD. I got every big war in history on DVD. My boy will be able to distinguish a good from a bad war b4 he volunteers (I hope).
