Best ways to avoid La Tourista?

We will definitely return to Playa, but are eager for the reassurance of experienced folk that we will not be struck with Montezuma's Revenge each visit.

This time, we were all fine for the first few days. Drank only bottled water, but we did have many frozen drinks and ice. By the fifth day, it hit all of us in varying degrees. I read that all of the big hotels have "purification" systems, so we thought the ice would be OK. Where did we go wrong?

sorry, but no one can answer that for you, because no one has a detailed list of all the things you ate, including analysis of those things.

you should consult your physician.
