Qualified American Hairstylist need in Playa?

I visited Playa 10 yrs ago and fell in love with the town then. I was just in Playa again last month....I would enjoy living in Playa in the near furture. Do you locals need a good Vidal Sasson trained hairstylist in Playa? I'm considering working out of my home when livng there. How much does it cost to get a decent haircut for men and women in Playa?

You are planning to go into competition with Xavier? He is very very good, has a loyal customer base, has a well known place in Playa, yet lives on the other side of 307 where the costs are lower.

And your competitive advantage will be………………?

Hairstylist

I would think your best bet would be to investigate working at one of the tonier hotel or resort salons, catering to tourists.

Never mine Anna just answered my question on a different thread.

Tropipalms - first of all, if you haven't visited Playa for 10 years, you absolutely have to come back and see if you like it now. It has changed a lot in 10 years. There are a lot of salons here now, and a haircut would cost between 8 and 30 usd, I guess, depending on where you go. I'm not sure about that, but I am sure that there's no way you'd able to charge American rates. You have a good skill to travel/move abroad with, but you do have to count on a significant income cut

I was just in Playa last month. I knew when I returned again I would notice a lot of change. Bummer. I used to visit Cabo San Lucas a lot in Baja...that has changed mucho also! Regarding haircut prices here in California> I charge $30 for men $50 for women. I know the rates are lower in Playa. I have been designing hair for 20 years. I also specialize in color work...lots of highlighting...any blondes out there need a touch up?
I was just curious to see where most of the locals frequent to have their locks trimmed. I'm really not into the tourist/hotel enviroment. I would rather establish a relationship with local clients.

I used to go with Roberto, he is on av constituyentes and is AWESOME!!....he is that kind of hairstylist that knows exactly what you need, he is Italian and he is really good , all his staff very professional.
About 2 years ago he used to charge for haircut around 150 pesos (16 usd) and that was expensive for locals , but it worth it to go.....
highlights (of course depends on how long your hair is) mine is large so , was 700 pesos for retouch.....last time I went there (2 years ago) I had a haircut, they did my highlights and color all over again and I paid 1500 pesos (160usd)....so I dont know how much they charge now..
