This is the first message board/forum that I had ever read...ever. No chat rooms...nothing before this. Actually, I was not really keen on the whole idea at first. Thought all that nameless, faceless stuff was kind of creepy. So, when I chose my own name and picture to represent "moi" it was an attempt to not be creepy. This is post #100 for me and I just wanted to say that there does not seem to be even one creep in the whole bunch of playainfo bananas. I have been pleasantly surprized by this little community and I can't wait to meet some of you folks in Playa. My hat is off to everyone that participates on this forum.

I gotta be me

Softy was the name of a beloved pet,a basset hound who gave me & ex-husband many, many laughs. 57 is the age I was when I started using handle. Started out as Maddow 1st,from a headline from newspaper "Mad Dow" referring to stock exchange. Also my last name-Dow not Mad lol.
Had to give it up cause aol rots, locks up your screen name for months so now I'm softy. Guess the grand-kids would say I'm a little "soft" in other ways.
They don't call me "crazy grammie" for nothing!
Let the sun shine. .....Gail

I'm right here.......

HI Beachwolverine. I've been busy working and triathlon training. So mostly I've been lurking. Still reading the board every couple of days. It is just so depressing that Tommy keeps going down every three months and I have to wait till Feb. to get back down there.
"quote..."Later she left me and got her own ID..." Sorry to hear this Tommy.
Bumper I'm hoping the beach olympics are at the end of Feb. I'm trying to learn Portuguese for an advantage in the "Topless Oil Application"

Good to hear that Cuff, I like IU - too many people around here with names containing Ohio and/or buckeyes. Wolverines are cool, nobody knows what a buckeye is.

Now quit skirting the issue and tell us about cuffedlinks!!

DavidB - good to see ya! Say hi to Tammy and best wishes on the Triathlon.

I know what you mean - we're delaying until April next year to try and hit a little less wind and a little warmer - don't know how we're going to make it that long...

The story of roni. My real name is Ron. My last name is the most common one in the english language. In most internet venues, I would be ronsmith134213, or ron999384758. I also tried ronnie, my grandmother's favorite. Same deal, but AHA, there was nary a roni to be found. roni it became. I like its androgynous flavor--keeps some of the clueless guessing for a bit

Well.....guess what? My name is Sue! I just used my real name as my username, and since I registered like 1 day after James opened up the forum, I was lucky enough to get such a common username before anyone else took it. I actually thought of changing it to something more original, yesterday, when sctx said I was THAT girl that fell in the toilet and was a legend in guyland, but then someone else said that this title actually belongs to someone else, so I guess I'll just be Sue....

I don't have an avatar. I want one, but I don't have internet access at home, where I have the software and equipment available to manipulate images, and I can't bring an image in to work via a disc because the disc drives on all of the computers here have been locked up.

P.D. In Spanish the name would be "Bufon" instead of "fool"

All this talk of the muppets inspired me to change my avatar. Today I feel like these old guys from the muppets.

You know, the ones that were always complaining and a real pain in the a**. Mostly you didn't mind because they made you laugh, but never the less they were cranky.

In my own case, Jesus is a VERY common name in Spanish, specially in Mexico.

In English it could also be popular, as you have Joseph and Mary, but for a reason I don't know, Jesus sounds a lot more religious than those other two.

In Spanish, Jesus! is also an exclamation to denote surprise or another exhaltated state, but it just depends on the intonation.

And I got the name because I was born on a Good Friday. Fortunately.

Since I grew-up as a Buckeye, I resemble that remark. However, with a father and uncle who graduated from the U of M I have always been dedicated to the Wolverines. I also managed to twice attend U of M as an undergraduate. and interrupted both "visits". I did, however, have one helluva lot of fun in Ann Arbor . Incidentally, in the early 70's, I moved from Harbor Springs, MI to OKC, OK to go to law school. I decided that running a back-hoe was a bit of a misuse of my education.

Name and avatar...RAM's pretty simple, my initials. When I had a manufacturing and constructions company, RAM Industries, it worked quite well to use the theme "Let RAM help ewe!" The avatar is 1~2~3, the hot air balloon I've been flying for 15 years.

The Lovely Lady Lawyer just called to remind me to quit messin' around on the computer and WORK...'Cause we leave to PDC tomorrow afternoon :p Gotta go...C U on the beach.

I remember those two, always heckling from up in the balcony. The one with the mustache was Waldorf, and the other guy was Statler. If there had been a third one, I guess his name would have been Hilton, Motel 6, or Holiday Inn. That was a great show.
