I 'd like to hear people's opinions on Spanish language program's. I have used the traveller's version of Pimsleur's Spanish program and have been impressed but their comprehensive programs are very expensive. I've also heard that the Learn in Your Car programs are good. Does anyone out there have a preference or maybe another recommendation? I'd really like to have a half-decent ability to communicate by winter. Thanks

We purchased "Behind The Wheel Spanish" from Language Dynamics recently. We purchased it on Amazon.com and it cost around $60. The package includes eight 60 minute cassettes - it covers most common language situations, teaches sentence building techniques and is pretty good. We put the tape in when we cook dinner in the evenings and are learning a lot. It is great both for people who have previous spanish experience (I had four years of Spanish in high school) and for people who are just starting out (like my boyfriend). There is a URL on the front of the box where I think you can get more info: http://www.languagedynamics.com
The trick to this - as with anything - is to stick with it and practice on a regular basis. You'll pick it up in no time. Hope this is helpful. I'm sure there are many other tapes out there that are just as good. [ This Message was edited by: Mimi on 2002-04-28 15:46 ] |
