Just wanted to mention another idea for fundraising. My a cappella group, Octave, which is here in Atlanta, holds an event every fall called A Cappella in the Park. We get other a cappella groups to come perform, and we perform, too. The event is open to the public and free to attend, but while all the music is going on, a dog rescue group is there on the scene to educate the audience about their rescue group, the importance of spaying and neutering, and they bring dogs that are up for adoption (not to be adopted that day, they have a whole application process. Their spay/neuter program has a pretty clever name: No "Littering." Anyhow, last year we raised $1000 for them in a little under 4 hours, all strictly donations. Maybe some of the local musicians or restaurant owners could put on an event of the same nature for you?
Again, can't wait to visit! I think Josef said we might be bathing doggies???
Anna Tortuga if you're reading this, I want to meet your puppy too!!! We're staying at La Tortuga, so I am sure we could find a way to meet her!!
