Cinco de Mayo is not really celebrated in that part of Mexico, as it is in celebration of the day that 4,000 Mexican soldiers smashed the French and traitor Mexican army of 8,000 at Puebla, Mexico, 100 miles east of Mexico City on the morning in 1862.
Since Playa is traditionally Mayan, they do not celebrate this holiday. I have heard that there are SOME celebrations, but not as many as in other parts of Mexico, or in the USA.
HOWEVER, some good bars are the Tequila Barrel, Captain Tutix.....someone chime in?
