Hey Greg.. We loved the ASP... We also know a number of people who have also been more than once and plan to go back... The facilities of the resort are really nice.. The staff are very friendly and provide great service.. The two person hot tub in each room is also a nice bonus..
The spa is amazing.. You need to pay for the actual spa treatments (massages etc), but there are a bunch of spots in the spa that are free to use for guests.. There is a good size indoor gym (and an outdoor one).. There is an indoor pool and bar in the spa.. There are hot tubs and cold plunge tub.. There are saunas, steam rooms, hydrotherapy rooms.. All this is included with your stay.. Apparently there is also a disco now which was not there on our last trip.. The only slightly negative was some of the food was a bit bland compared what we are used to at home, but from what I can tell this is a common complaint of many of the AIs in Mexico.. I had no problem with the food and was stuffed the entire time, it's just different than home and I am not real picky about my food..
One bonus is the free use of other Palace resort.. There is pretty good snorkeling at the Xpu-Ha palace, so we will likely spend a day there to snorkel and making use of the bars, restaurants and the beautiful beach. We did this last trip and had a nice time there.. Of course, we also made it into PDC which I am sure we will do again as well.
