El Oasis
Just returned yesterday. We ate at the "new" Oasis on 12th, it was around the corner from our hotel (La Tortuga).
We met Jamie and he was so flattered that his tacos had made James and Anna's website. I thought he was going to cry! He was a delight to talk to, as were the rest of his staff. They patiently let us practice our spanish and were so cheery and bright. Even with the new prime location, we were the only tourists in the joint on most occasions.
They make their own habenero sauce fresh every morning. I hate spicy food but I LOVE Jamie's sauce! I put 2-4 drops per taco and make sure I have a cold drink handy.
If anyone ever listens to anything I say on this board, please head to Jamie's joint.
I tried to bring Jamie home with me but he said Oregon was too cold. I miss his tacos already....
