We just returned Saturday from spending a week at the Gran Porto Real, across from the Royal. We wore shorts every night to dinner with no problems. We ate at Maria's, as well as the Italian resturant (Il Pescatore (SP?).
The Gran Porto Real was great. No complaints....only great things to say about it. The food, the drinks, the service, etc., they were all fantastic.
I know a lot of folks on the forum have negative things to say about staying in the AI's, but we had a great visit. We went out a few nights and ate at the local resturants around 5th avenue.
I would highly recommend the Gran Porto Real, as well as the Royal.
