I'll upload a couple pictures of my Sunday later when I get a chance.
I missed the pizza, however. By the time I showed up, there was just a really long table with a grease stripe down the middle. |

Well this was farcical, imo, and without trying to be cruel. It was a whole lot of parts of a whole lot of pizzas more or less strewn on tables running down 5th. The tables broke completely for the cross streets, so it wasn't continuous. Where I saw it, it wasn't a pizza but rather individual pieces adjacent to each other in alternating fashion, creating a pizza piece line down the middle of the table. MOst of the pizza I saw was from Domino's in their boxes, opened up, and many people were walking away with a small stack of those boxes. I couldn't see much connection to Italy (other than that it was pizza) or much promotional value in it for the various sponsors (other than that they did put up their banners for a while on 5th where they normally wouldn't have been). And it's hard to imagine that this would impress anyone at Guinness.
It was nice to have a free slice or two of pizza, however!

After a quick dip in the pool at a friend's place in Playacar, and some shrimp tacos for lunch, I headed over to the Abyss diveshop to see Mitch for his last day of work. Yes, after about 7 years of working in Playa as an instructor, Mitch is finally hanging up his reg to focus on new challenges. Of course, he's not quitting diving. We already have a cantil dive planned for this week!
![]() ![]() so after a couple at La Pirata we headed over to the Beer Bucket. On the way, I snapped this shot of them setting up for the "big pizza." It was very clear that there wasn't going to be one long pizza, but a bunch of slices. ![]() After snapping this shot, I had to run home for a few minutes. When I got back, all I saw was a grease streak down that brown paper and a bunch of empty Dominos boxes. bogus. So I hung out for a while at the Beer Bucket, had some tostadas and a sope from La Adelita (cochinita with chipotle sauce... mmmmmmmm) and on the way out, saw this girl go for a rather nasty dive, as the following series illustrates: ![]() ![]()
