But, probably the best (and worst) example of bubble gum music was:

It was sickening. Those of us who aspired to become a cross between the Beat Generation and Summer of Love devotees all the while pleasing our teachers and parents talked badly of anyone who like bubble gum music. It was Top 40 ground into the ground.

Lil G - I have to confess...I think I had pictures of David Cassidy all over my bedroom when I was about 11 !!!!

Sorry I didn't get back to you, Lil G, I've been out of town for a few days. Thanks for having my back, Critter. You provided much a more complete and comprehensive response than I would have. Mind you, mine would have been based on memory only, since I actually recall listening to the Strawberry Alarm Clock. CSN&Y was right on the money too. By the way Neil Young was a Winnipegger and I saw him perform several times in a local coffee house called the Fourth Dimension when I was in high school - early/mid 60's.
