I think Babs is pointing you in the right direction. To oversimplify it, your options are pretty much 1) A hotel, some of which will have restaurants, but by no means all. Tend to have smaller pool facilities. No organized activities. They're there to provide accomodations. Often not exactly "kid friendly." 2) A resort, which will have a variety of dining options, generally a larger recreational area, with pool etc, organized activities. More of a family orientation. These are pretty much all "All Inclusive" type operations, and tend to be somewhat out of the downtown area, with the exception of the ones Babs mentioned. You're really looking at an apples & oranges situation. Neither is either better or worse...just different. Don't know if this helps, or just muddies the waters?
