Airport Transfers

Is there perhaps a way we could pay for the transfer upon arrival instead of over paypal, I'm sure paypal is an efficient service, but have never used it before. It would be $128 for both ways right?

I guess that depends on your tranfer company (if they accept a payment upon arrival, wich I think they'll), but besides the payment... 128 usd I think is too much for round trip transfer to the airport!!!....I dont know how many people are inlcuded in this transfer, but have you consider just take a taxi airport-PDC-airport? or may be the bus that departs from the airport-pdc-airport?... just a thought...

I’ve been VERY happy with airport transfers booked through this site. Always money well spent. And believe me I’m cheep. If you are with a group, getting off the plane and into a private van that will take you straight to your hotel (without getting lost or stopping to drop off others) is a great deal. We had Playa Info transfers both ways in April. Hassle free Luxury.

I have to agree....when we brought some friends down for the first time we used the service provided here in the site and it was awesome.....The driver was holding a sign up with my name on it when we got the green light....Just the 4 of us in the van both ways....it eliminated the negotiation of the Taxi service and gave us all plenty of breathing room....Another great thing is that when you leave you dont have to haul your bags up to the taxi stand or run around trying to tell one where you want to be picked up.....Hassle free....well worth the extra few dollars....We took a Taxi for 4 in July and it cost us 100usd round trip and was a major hassle....I blew an hour trying to get them to our condo.....MONEY WELL SPENT!

Is there a better rate than $64 USD? There are only two of us?
What happens if the company/van doesn't show up? How does one get their money back? Sounds risky to me.

I haven't heard of an instance where the company/van didn't show up. If they didn't show up, James and Anna would not use the company anymore and you'd be credited back the amount of the transfer.

The least expensive way to get to Playa from the airport is to take the Riviera Bus. 65 pesos/pp each way ($6-$7 USD depending on exchange rate). However, then you will need to get a taxi to take you to the Riu Playacar from the bus station which should cost $4 USD.

Another option, if you're interested in the airport transfer and are concerned about the cost, is to post a thread here on the forum to see if there's anyone arriving at the same time who'd be interested in sharing the cost of the van with you.

No one is perfect. If we screw up, we'll make sure you are covered and happy.

Two people will find using the colective van service cheaper than our private service. Sometimes they are direct with few stops, sometimes they make an hour worth of stops at the intermediate resorts between the airport and Playa.

If cheaper is your gauge for best, your group size should be 4 or more for our service to come out on top. If you factor in your time, we might be even more attractive.

Remember that service providers to and from the airport are controlled by the airport. Town taxis can drop off, but cannot pickup. Leaving the airport in an airport taxi (yellow and black sedans) costs about double what it costs to return, so for three people, going back to the airport in a taxi is the way to go. I think it's about 32 bucks (350 pesos) unless you are leaving from an AI resort, where they always have an extra charge for some reason.

For private van service, if you shop around, you'll find our rates to be very competitive and we stand behind our service.

To answer the original question, you will need to pay online beforehand.

In our case, the transfers are included, but our flight won't arrive until 1730 hours on the 18th. With customs and travel, the best we could hope for is to arrive at our hotel (Riu Playacar) @1930 hours if we are able clear customs in 30 minutes. By then, we would be very hungry after a long cramped flight, but that's assuming a direct connection from the airport to PDC w/o any stops. We have no idea what other resorts along the way we will stop at and when. Could our tour operator tell us?

Transportation on the way back probably won't be an issue since we won't be in any hurry to return back home unless something horrible happens. Then again, if we choose to take private transportation one way then it is very possible (murphy's law) that our tour operator will get confused and assume we won't need return transportation to the airport. Hmmm.

Even if your tour operator or travel agent can tell you how many other stops the transfer service will need to make, being that it's Mexico, it's very possible that something different may happen once you actually arrive then what you're told. If you've got transfers included, I'd make it easy on yourself after a long trip and save your money by using the transfer service provided with your package. A half an hour to an hour more won't make or break your vacation. Relax and enjoy your visit.

Best to start a new thread to get the best results then include the detail of your arrival time and destination in the text.
