IB Tucan: Beer, Tour, & Restaurant Questions

Hi,
I'm pretty new to posting but I've been reading everything on this site for a couple of weeks now. Anyway, I have a couple of questions that I haven't seen addressed before:
  • what kind of beer do they serve at the Iberostar Tucan?
  • when are the best times to schedule the Fat Cat and Tulum tours with James and Anna
  • and finally, how do the restaurant coupons work: we will be there 7 nights and receive 3 coupons for the ala carte restaurants. If we want, can we use all our coupons for the same place and what's the cancellation policy if we decide not to go to a restaurant we've made reservations for?
Thanks for any feedback/suggestions you have.
Marie

Hi Marie,

1. They serve Dos Equis light and dark on tap at the bars. You get bottled Superior in your mini-fridge.

2. Don't know about the times for the tours.

3. You don't get "coupons". You just go to the reservations desk and make your reservations. We were there for two weeks in April and we went to one of the restaurants twice so I don't think there's a restriction on how many times you can visit a specific restaurant. I've never had to cancel a reservation so I can't help you there but I don't think there would be a problem with cancelling and rebooking. I would recommend making your reservations early in your stay so you get the best chance of getting the restaurants and times you want. They fill up pretty fast. And maybe things are different for you but when we were there we only got two a la carte reservations a week, not three as you mentioned.

If you're interested I have pictures from our trip here: http://www.pbase.com/pgammon

Hope this helps.

sun seekers,
Actually, I did read this report and several others. Unfortunately, being the rookie that I am to posting and navigating this forum, I couldn't find Laura's trip report-part 2, any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks
Marie
