not sure about Akumal-yes there is still many pangas from the ****** all the way to Coco Beach-but for how long was my concern. The developers of the high priced condos going in do not want the pangas in front of their properties and money talks. I dont think its that simple-if there are fish to catch and people to buy. Most of the fish in the markets do not come from Playa-some but not most and like you said there is a marina in PA-and that will not go away. Tourist will have to go there. Not a huge problem for tourist. Big problem for the fishermen in Playa-many this is the only trade they know past on by their fathers and grandfathers.
