Tuesday September 25th

We woke up quite early the next day-(I can never sleep in on vacation) and went down to the pool at the Hyatt which is gorgeous

This is the grotto bar underneath and through the waterfall of the pool

We decided to go into Lahaina for some breakfast.

View from Front Street:

We talked to a local who directed us to the Sunrise Café. It was a perfect little hole in the wall on the beach which served up nice portions and we tried Portuguese sausage for the first time. It was delicious! It looked like kielbasa, but it was not smoked and had a wonderful flavor. Sorry, no picture, I was jetlagged and hungry!

Back up to the pool for some more R & R. Man it is beautiful here!! The Hawaiian people are truly special; they are so nice and make you feel so welcome. It is a little weird to us that we are still in the U.S. It is so far away, we are in paradise, no language barrier, no money to exchange. We are still in the United States! Cool!

After a while we are hungry again so we go try the Okazuya Deli near our hotel. Josh had a Maui Onion burger that he said was just OK, I think what made it was the pile of fried onions that were on it-there were a TON. I have the broiled mahi with suteed veggies that was delicious. Again I failed on the pic-leftover Bride Brain I guess…but not to worry LOTS coming I promise!

More pool time and went to clean up for dinner…

“Dinner”
Started drinking, and decided to take the bus into Lahaina. That is the big difference from Playa…you can’t walk to a lot of places. We decided to take the bus in and a cab back. We had some RBV’s (red bull and vodka for those of you who have not read my trip reports yet) trying to shake this jet lag thing so we can stay up for awhile!

We head to Moose Mc Gillicudddy’s first but it was too early and it was dead, then Kimo’s for one drink, and then Lahaina Coolers. Now this is our kind of place. We continued drinking RBV’s hoping to shake the tiredness, but it just wasn’t working, and by the time we remembered to eat I was hammered. We ordered some Kahlua pig tacos…I guess they were alright, but it was too late. I needed to go to bed. We headed back to the hotel and passed out. Sorry for the lack of pics, but again, I will make up for it soon.
