Sort of a cross between the two. Kauai is much greener but not as much business/nightlife. Maui has more nightlife than Kauai, but not as hectic as Oahu. Plus the beaches on Maui are nicer than Oahu in my opinion. Less hectic.
The beach we were on in Maui was Kahawilli Beach (sp).
