We decided to lay out at the Hyatt pool the next day and enjoy it a little more before checking out at noon. We ate lunch poolside and were glad we had ventured out the rest of the time-not so great especially for the price.
After soaking up an ample amount of rays, we checked out of the hotel and headed to our next destination…the Maui Kaanapali Villas, a condo that we would be staying at for the next 8 days.
They are some nice condos and still on the beach. Now we have a full kitchen, more room and our adventure travels will begin!
Here is the beach right in front of the condo. For those of you who have been to Maui, it is right north of Black Rock. A much nicer less crowded stretch of beach than in front of the Hyatt:

I did not think the golden sand of Maui could hold a candle to the white beaches of Playa, but they were gorgeous. The golden sand, deep blue water and the view of the 2 islands is just so different than any beach we have been to. So beautiful!
We walked up to Black Rock and took a picture looking back up our beach which goes forever!
Some more R&R on the beach and walk back to the condo to clean up for dinner. This is rough (I am trying my best to keep a straight face)
Oh look they have free yoga classes!-sorry-no formal exercising on this trip-yes I said 'formal'
We had dinner that night at the Fish and Poi in the Napili Resort. We were kinda worried, because when we walked in and were sat, we looked around and we half expected a magician to pop up at our table.

It was kind of a dark, weird lounge lizard type establishment. Josh was giving me the look like “where did you hear about this place?”

I was like “from the hours and hours of research I had done on food in Maui!” Believe me it was hours! I started to feel a little uneasy…maybe my food adventures had failed us this time???...ho hum…playing the waiting game now…I hope it’s good, I hope it’s good….
Our drinks arrived and they were on spot…good….ok what’s next? Then the Maui onion soup en croute arrived and it was very nice, mild, balanced and it started to redeem the place. Shew!
I knew after the soup the rest of the meal would be good. Thank GAWD!
I had the Macadamia Nut crusted Mahi with shrimp and lemon caper sauce. It was excellent!!
The mahi and shrimp were extremely fresh, and the caper sauce was mild and a little sweeter than at home. Reminded me of the Meyer lemon from California:
Josh had a NY strip with Maui fried onions and Hawaiian barbecue sauce, it was fantastic as well. Josh was smiling now!
I can't remember what we did the rest of the night, but more to come!
Tomorrow is the helicopter ride!!
