Here are two of my favorite eating/drinking establishments in NYC... though neither are Mexican.
McSorley's Old Ale House 15 East 7th StreetOne of the oldest bars in NYC opened in 1857 but didn't allow women in until the 1970s. It's not much different today than it was when it opened... there's still sawdust on the floor... years of history on the walls... and only two kinds of beer served, McSorley's Light and McSorley's Dark. PJ Clarke's 915 Third Avenue at 55th StreetAnother NYC institution opened it's doors 120 years ago. Being a two story building on the corner of 3rd Ave and 55th St makes it look so out of place in today's world. Inside it's not much different than it was years ago.
