One of these days, I'll do some liposuction on my Diamante-K & Zamas photos and upload them to my internet storage area so I can display them here. Although I normally just get drinks and finger food at Zamas, they're recognized for their dinner menu. We sometimes get a beer in a go cup and go sit on the rugged cliffs closer to the ocean. The view is as good as Gringo Daves, just not as convenient for replenishing your drinks.
Our typical day on the Mayan coast consists of discovery and adventure by day and massive socializing by night. We're usually rolling around 7am and end our day about 3am. Quite often, we'll take a power nap between 4-6pm followed by a shower and then we're out for the night. Of course, we're trashed when we finally return home but it's well worth it. We just feel it's sacrilegious to waste our time sleeping while on vacation! Here are a few photos of the Tulum wreck while it was still attempting to be seaworthy (timeframe is the last couple days of January or first couple days of February 2004). I was at Gringo Daves in PA a couple of days ago and the manager said that they were going to open up again at the same spot in Tulum. Strange, with the fence and for sale signs at that location. Maybe the land owner raised the rent so GD pulled out until a rent settlement could be reached.

Those Gringos lied... yeah, we'll re-open in Tulum in just a few months (that was back in 2004). People are still patiently waiting!!
![]() ![]() Anyway, here's my daughter Jamie (brunette) with her cousins Susan and Lisa on the cliffs at Gringo Dave's back in late March 2004. The sexiest thing about that location was the angle of the sunlight reflecting off the water from that lofty perch on the cliff... the ultimate in turquoise!! ![]() ![]() Last edited by JimmyMN : 04-02-2008 at 08:38 PM. |

Do they still have the place next door, Nacho's I think it was called? View was almost as good, cook was the same guy, and the Coronas were ice cold. We went there a few times after Gringo Dave's closed, wasnt quite the same but a reasonable substitute.........
