EDR: Individual Casita or 2nd floor?

Can't decide what we want for our honeymoon in October! What is your opinion?

I have been wondering about this same issue, although my honeymoon isn't until June '05.

AI or Casita for Honeymoon

CASITA, CASITA.... Privacy....Outdoors.....Make sure you get a private swimming pool or Jacuzzi....Cutback on the wedding...Pay for the casita and bring someone in to cook for you a couple of days.....Seems more romantic being all by yourself than with 500 people. what do i know though we went to Branson Missour 25 years ago for our honeymoon.(silver dollar city) yahoo at the time it was fun....

Without a doubt, we have booked the casita. I am just trying to decide between and individual casita or second story casita.

I will also be there at the end of October and have booked a Casita. I am wondering the same thing. I did read somewhere once about someone that had a ground level castia and they did not like the fact that if they wanted the blinds open everyone walking done a path could see right in and when they closed the blinds the room was a little dark. Not sure if that helps but I think I am going to request a second story. Not sure if you know but the also have solo casita's while the rest are in sections of 4 or 8 I believe. When are you going to be there?

Kiwibride,

Something else you might want to consider in deciding between individual/2nd floor.....the Casita's have an outdoor "roofless" natural stone shower. I have read some reviews that said folk's on the ground level were not to thrilled that those on the 2nd floor might be able to see their...umm...activities....in the "agua amour"

JHawk & Kiwibride

what are your dates??? We will be there Oct 30th to Nov 6th.

My new wife and I will be there Oct 27 thru Nov 6th. Can't wait this will be my 5th time to Mexico first to Playa area. We will have to meet up for a drink. Do you have other activities planned during your stay?

We stayed on the 2nd floor Casita. I wanted 2nd floor for the better view. My sister stayed in a single Casita which was nice too, cause it feels like your own little place, and you can walk right out to the pool or ocean. Hard decision. But which ever you choose I dont think anyone will see your togetherness in the shower , from what I remember there where little roofs blocking the view. Not to worry.

We are still mulling a bunch of things over as far as activities. There is so much that we want to do but with only a week we don't want to pack it so full it doesn't feel like a rest. So far the "short list" includes:

lots of snorkel time at resort (bringing our own gear)
1 day- scuba 1/2 day snorkel half moon bay 1/2 day
1 day at HBR
real good prowl of PDC
hopefully the tulum trip with james and anna (but the dates aren't up yet)
Would love to see Xcaret, if we can.

We would love to meet up for drinks, and if our "plans" are compatable maybe we can share taxi's etc.

So how bout you....have you made a short list yet are you counting the days yet??? Are you already packed??? just kidding..

Did you find the casita suites to be quiet, or was there a lot of outside noise coming in? I've been wondering about this as they are relatively close to pools.

We went the first week of December and it was very quiet. The pools by the Casitas where pretty much deserted. The only ones there most of the time was the bartender and the 4 of us in our group. Sometimes there would be a few other people but never noisy at all. I think most of the people hung out at the huge pool by the main entrance or where laying on the beach. We felt like we had our private pool most of the time.

Wedding Coordinator at EDR

Does anyone have contact information for the wedding coordinator at the EDR? We're hoping to have our wedding May 28th, 2005 but before we book any resort we are wanting to make sure they're available for the wedding. Thanks!
