Xpu-Ha Place or El Dorado Spa

I am trying to make a decision between Xpu and El Dorado Spa in Playa. I may go alone, in that case El Dorado seems like a better choice because it is close and has a pool bar and is on the beach. But RCI also found 2 weeks in March at the Xpu-Ha. It is $1722 for 14 day's of all inclusive. I pay the same if it was just me eatting and if two ppl the same.

I see that it doesn't have a pool bar, which I do enjoy, I am concerned on the size of the property and how available are the golf carts that shudule around. Also the variety and taste of food, I have heard that El Dorado's is good. The only reason that I haven't chosen them right away is because it is a suite for one or two private and so if my friend wants to come it wouldn't work out.

It is also important that I can snorkel off shore.

Please any feed back. I have to know by tonight.

Have you tried just booking a trip without using your RCI? Both seem awfully high. I think you would have more fun staying in a hotel or condo in PDC since you are going it alone. Plus, you get to experience the local restuarants and bars and save money..Just my thoughts about it. Have you tried Fisherman's Village in PDC for that time?
I know that the Xpu-ha offers a shuttle into town and the Palace resorts do allow you to use their other resorts (Day Passes) . I guess they would let you do the same ..but not sure of how the RCI stuff works.
