Rehearsal dinner restaurant

Getting ready for our wedding at the Iberostar Tucan on November 17, 2004 with a large group of about 60-70 joining us (beware if you're planning a quiet vacation at the Tucan that week!). Looking for a restaurant in Playa Del Carmen to have a rehearsal dinner. Looking for something that can accommodate a group of about 25. Price is not too much of an issue, more important to have good food, good service, good atmosphere and good drinks. Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance!
Sharon.

I'd have to second that nomination for Yaxche. I was there less than a week ago (sniff) and the atmosphere is lovely, the food was fantastic and so was the service. They have a website, www.mayacuisine.com, and it looks like they do special events. If I could plan my wedding all over again, I'd consider a destination wedding in Playa with the reception at Yaxche.

I'll second that. The food is very good, the ambience is wonderful and the staff could not be more accomodating and friendly. We have had four wonderful meals there. If they can accomodate 25 in the back garden area it would be lovely, I'm sure. There is beautiful foliage and a water feature. Very romantic!!!

I believe it is YAH chay. Emphasis on the yah. Is that correct?

Yaxche (pronounced Jag-shey)
However, I've always pronounced it as YAH-chee and I've also heard it pronounced as yosh-CHAY. Perhaps James or Anna could shed some light on the correct pronunciation for us.
