charlie,
They are one and the same resort, just two different sides with two different names. Different vacation companies book different sides. You can stay on one side and use all the facilities of the other side. Same beach, same pools, same restaurants...same resort! ![]() |

Thanks Shammy, would you say these are the nicer of the Iberostar resorts?
It will just be my husband and myself travelling this time, so we are really looking forward to the time away. Are the rooms identical in each resort? Sorry for all the questions, but we are very excited. |

charlie,
The "nicest" Iberostar property in the area is bound to be the IB* Lindo and it is priced higher than the IB* del Mar/Beach. It just opened last Nov and is more upscale than the others. The new IB* Paraiso Maya is set to open this Nov and it will be next to the Lindo. It is an all suite resort and substantially more expensive than the Lindo. The IB* Tucan/Quetzal is also a great resort. I like it better than the IB* del Mar/Beach simply because it's smaller and more compact. There is a tremendous amount of walking at the del Mar as it's a HUGE resort! No problem if you are prepared for that but you would be quite surprised at it's size if you didn't know! But it's still a very nice property. |

I'll just echo what Shammy said. If money isn't a concern try the Lindo. Guests of the Lindo get to use everything at the del Mar/Beach also. Del Mar/Beach do share the same pool, beach, and resturantes. I kind of thought the del beach lobby was nicer, but that's a matter of opinion. The del Mar side has it's main path to the lobby run next to a contructions site...where as the del Beach side runs next to the Lindo. So the del Beach side may give you more of that sense of being in a jungle resort area.
