staying at Riu Playacar

Hi there!! I'm a first timer to playa and will be staying at Riu Playacar. Any info on this hotel would be great. Also we are going in Nov. What type of weather should we expect? Anyone that can tell me some of the (MUST SEE'S AND DO'S) would be appreciated too( .....boy i'm asking for alot).

In November, we're returning to the Riu Playacar for the second time and our tenth time to the area

... It's a smaller resort with more Mexican ambiance than a lot of the other resorts we've been to... The rooms are ok except for the curtain separating the bathroom from the bedroom... And yes, the rooms do have a musty odor

so bring a room deodorizer or some scented candles...Frebreze is good too...

The buffet food is pretty good but we weren't impressed with the ala cartes but they were ok for a change... We like to go into town for a couple of dinners, there are so many great restaurants...

The service is excellent, everything is very clean and, of course, the beach is wonderful!...

If you're a pool person, the pavers are very hot so be sure to have some kind of slip-in shoes... During our stay we only noticed 3 couples playing the 'towel game'... I guess they wanted to be sure to be together in the sun...

We've found the weather in November to be very good... Hot and sunny days and lovely evenings with no humidity... Of course, weather can't be forecast for sure!!...

And my wife and I will be at the Tequila from 10/25 to 11/08. We use this hotel as a base of sorts. We've gone here the last 6 years and saved a ton of money exploring the coast. Hope to meet up with some of you. You'll love the Riu's.
