What kind of music other than mexican music in playa

Hai hai 2uall,

Like some people already know we come from Amsterdam. We like to dance and lounge (lounge bars are very populair in Amsterdam). Can anyone tell me what kind of music other than mexican music they play in Playa del Carmen.

Greetings Shiantry

music

hiya, I was in playa in august, we went to Deseo (on 5th ave on the corner of 12th) it was so cool, they played chill out trance music and with the subtle blue lighting and beds to lie on (very cool) we were all really sleepy after a couple of cocktails (try the cocktail called 'Deseo' it was great) real good place to go early evening just as its getting dark to chill out. We went to the Blue Parrot (on the beach) possibly the coolest place ive ever been! they have a great dance floor (also on beach) and play mostly dance music, stuff thats popular at the moment, I remember dancing to Usher and stuff like that. Mambo Cafe is a must, nightclub off 5th on 6th, play lots salsa and bands on the stage and about midnight they have a couple of hours of dance music, some stuff from the 90's which was fun. I have some cool pictures of Deseo, if you wanna see them send me a personal message. And have fun!!

You won't have any problem finding lounge music in PDC. While we enjoyed it we had trouble finding Mexican music being played in many places ...

Try doing a search of "bars and nightclubs" or Jimmy MN to see his fine list of bars and entertainment ... there was also a recent thread on "techno trance" or a similar nuevo music reference which was interesting ... Bourbon Street (see directory) has American blues music ...

There are a couple of bands that play Andes Music from South America. It's not dance music but it is very good. Karen's on Ave 5 has two bands that play in the evening.

Dear Dave B ... thanks for the Andes note ... Grupo Expression was the house band at Karen's for years and I listen to their cassettes fairly often ... I sort of forgot about them ... it has also become popular in the past several years for bands w/similar sound to bop about town and play a couple three songs in various restaurants

If it has been discussed before, then why do you bother answering. If it disgusts you that much, skip this question. If you are going to answer the question, answer it directly, & skip the crappie prelude!! This is exactly why more people don't join in & ask questions. Most of them don't have time to spend 24 hours on a forum, constantly monitoring every question that could be possibly asked. Other's do, & then act like it is a major pain in the ass to answer.

I think when someone refers to a previously discussed thread, the suggestion is to do a search and get buckets of info on the subject, not quit your job and devote your life to monitoring the site. There is alot more good natured kidding involved than hostility in the playa world.

Relax pacifico, you're wrapped way too tight. Take heart, Tommy, we still love you. By the way, what the heck is a Zero 7? (Remember, I'm old!)
