Don't do it
It's the neighbor to the Blue Parrot, but not in a good way. They seem to be in a time warp, with late 70's/early 80's being highly prevalent. You may be on the water, but your view is of all the boats docked there.

Four of us stayed here in January in one of their junior suites. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, separated by a living area--kitchenette, fridge, couch, dining room table. We thought it was great. The hotel is on the older side and could use an update, but it was clean, comfortable and the staff were great. Great A/C and in room safes. If you can, try to get one of the ocean facing cabana's, just steps from the water.
Nice little place for breakfast right out front, and the location can't be beat. Yes there are boats right out front, but walk 100 yards in either direction and there is plenty of beach. Blue Parrot right next door, but no noise on our side, and Quinta is just steps away. For the money, location and ammenities I'd recommend this place. Just make sure on price including tax. We booked online and the price quoted included tax. When we checked out, they tried to add the 12%. I had a copy printed out and produced it for the manager. He got a sheepish look on his face and agreed to the price quoted. Sorry amigo, I didn't just fall off the turnip truck.

Me and 3 friends stayed at Blue Beach in May. It was not extravagant, but for $100 a night for 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a living area with kitchenette, dining room table, sofa bed, and fridge, it was perfect. We did not have much luck with the restaurant, but the staff was friendly and helpful when asked. And for all of that room and 2 bathrooms, $100 divided by 4 people could not be beat! For a group of people, I think it was perfect, but for a couple, or just two people traveling, you could find better for the money.
Hope this helps! |

For the price of the blue beach, you can stay somewhere much nicer like my new favorite "villa amanecer" or for less $$ at plaza mariachi. Check out what this site has to offer, you end up getting the playa deal card which is a great bonus. The blue beach is not only old, it smelled like mildew when I stood there and past reviews aren't very favorable.
