Naaaaah... we were just taking something fairly depressing (in this case a natural disaster--an earthquake) and putting a positive forum spin on it. I think we should be commended for our optimistic and happy turnabout. It's a happy thread! Happy happy happy !!!!

Yes, but most men (I said most) can't think of more than one thing at a time... that's why it SEEMS like all they think about is sex.

squat in a doorway near the center of the house, bend over put your head between your legs and kiss your @$$ good-by. Well I made up the last part but the first sentence is correct. |

Back on topic.
Can someone find stats for natural disasters in the US over the last 10 - 30 years (I say 30 years so it would include the 1971 and 1994 earthquakes). Including earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, freezing weather, hot weather, volcano eruptions, etc. The stats would include # of injuries, deaths, damage in dollars. Y'all may be surprised, I don't think earthquakes would be much of a blip in those stats. |

In the 1994 Northridge quake, there was a three story apartment building down the street from where I lived that looked like 2 story after the quake, the bottom floor collapsed. Most of the 1st floor survivors were next to their beds. Moral get next to or under a very strong piece of furniture, and cover up. Helmets help as well. |
