You can read more about Xcaret from the link on our homepage. Xcaret and Xel-Ha are the best places to swim with dolphins. They have dolphins in Puerto Aventuras also, but it's in the marina and kind of small for them there.

My husband and I are thinking about going to Occidental Grand Flamenco Xcaret Resort with our young kids. Is this the one your talking about? If so, how's the attire on the beach? Does anyone go topless or nude?
Thanks!

My husband and I are planning on going to the Occidental Flamenco Xcaret in September. I would love to here feedback from anybody who has stayed there. How's the beach, pools, food etc...There is very little information about this property around.

Occidental Flamenco Grand Xcaret

November 11th 2002.

Just came back, I'm a travel agent in Quebec. I went with my husband and we had a lovely time. Resort beautiful , clean and staff nice. Rooms: large very mexican style floor ceramic and mohagany furnuture all new. Bathroom: all marbel.

Restaurants : excellent food, only 3 a la carte open but you rotate and it's good. I'm picky , and I enjoyed it very much. All waiters gave amazing services.

Alcohol drinks : non and international drinks all included, even Baileys !

Beach : Unfortunalty they have no beach. My opinion it's for people who prefer pools rather than beach. The beach they have is next to a la carte Grill Beach restaurant ( very good ) but it looks like a pool in a lagune with sand. You have no access to carribean beach, all rocks. The Resort is so beautifull and excellent food / 5 pools with jacuzziz. It's so EXOTIC and being so close to the ruins you don't care about the beach.

Xcaret : privat access about 3 min walk, you can go visite and return to resort have you lunch go back and return for dinner and go back Very convenient. Great for families. Activities excellent snorkeling they even have a bat cave, private access to dolphins from resort.

Spa and gym : all equipped
Doctor on call.
The canal at the resort, they clean every day, it does not smell. It's very romantic.

I've been everywhere this resort is a good 5 star. Great for families and couples. Not much for singles. Singles should go to Club Med Cancun.

Close to Playa Del Carmen about $8 usd by taxi to town 15 min.
Xcaret next door.

Hope this helps, I'll go back again and again. Thank you Xcaret Flamenco !we had a lovely time.

FKL from Quebec I'm 28yrs old.
