Tappy....
That is exactly the reason they are there, to help promote awareness. The baby Dolphin was ELUSIVE. Surfacing SOMEWHERE, every 5 to 15 minutes. using a digital, with a slight delay...it's nearly impossible to capture. It's 1 quick (2 seconds) and back down again. Viewing in person isn't a problem.
We also went to the Miami Seaquarium. They had a Killer Whale, and Pacific White-Sided (Spinners) Dolphins there. Along with 4 Manatees, and various other mammals. The Manatees are HUGE. You don't realize how big they are, till you view them underwater. Impressive, considering their vegetarians and mostly eat grasses. Wasn't that impressed with the facility overall though. They chill the water for the Orca, but the pool was very small. D.R.C. doesen't use pools, their pens are in the open ocean. Always fresh (Ocean) circulating thru them. It's the best way for the animals. |

African Queen
Nice pics, we had a ride on the African Queen a few years ago at a boat show in Racine, WI. Looks like they gave it a new paint job.
Loved the butterfies and the dolphins also, thanks for the pictures. |
