Rocky passed away at high noon

Today, around noon, my friend Fred was riding his bike alongside Rocky on his bike. As the rounded a corner, Rocky's bike veered off and hit a curb. Rocky passed away doing what he loved to do. Rocky is a true legend around Playa and has lived here 20+ years.
Rocky, R.I.P. You will be missed by many.
A true colorful character of Playa.

I'm sorry to hear this. He was definitely a fixture in Playa. Sounds like maybe the bike crash came after, maybe? Like his death caused the crash? (bicycle or motor?)

No, he died on the bike. That's why the bike crashed into the curb. He was already dead when it crashed.

That's what I meant. Do you know how old Rocky was, Al?

Rest in peace Rocky.

Aww, I have fond memories of Rocky. I remember our first stay at the Playa Maya, Rocky was there sitting in the back corner, minding his business, reading a book maybe nursing a cervesa. He was there a couple years after that. Seemed like a good soul. After a couple years he wasn't there at the PM anymore. But we did see him around town like at the Beer Bucket and other places enjoying himself. It seems he lived his life the way he wanted. RIP.

So sad to hear, I saw and talked to him in May at a party. He will be missed. I have a great Picture of him at the Beer Bucket but can't seem to post it.

Rocky was a true legend of PDC! I am so glad that we got to have a nice visit with him in February. It just won't be the same when we go down there, and won't get to see Rocky! RIP Rocky

I'd love to see a picture if anyone has one. The name sounds very familiar. My condolences to his friends and family.

Heard this earlier today, wasn't sure what happened. Rocky sure was a Playa icon. Sad to hear of his passing. RIP Rocky!

RIP Rocky. Pleasure to have run into you a couple times and Playa will be a lesser place with your passing.

I remember sitting with you at Captain Daves both of us eating El Oasis shrimp tacos while Grady was playing. The hot sauce would bring sweat to you brow. Gave Grady a bit of shit for stealing John Prine's rifts on one song. Ended up taking the photos to his college room mate in Austin.

Great memories.

Sorry to hear it. Our condolences to Al and some long-time guests of ours (to whom we've already passed along word of this) and to anyone else who was friends with Rocky.
