The hotel is located south of Calle 8 on 5th Avenue, just about the center of the tourist zone. The location cannot be beat. The grounds are immaculately landscaped and maintained. We stayed in one of the suites that faced away from the street and had no problem with noise from 5th Avenue.
The room had a very unhotel feel to it due to the heavy beams (4x12's) and the lighting. My hat goes off to the architect for a lot of little details that makes the property shine. It is worth the walk up to the fifth floor patio to look out over 5th and over the stait to Cozumel.
The downside is that the hotel has no convenient parking if you rented a car (true of most places in the center of town), and you really have to like stairs since there is no elevator and no ground level rooms.
Since our stay, Lunata has gotten its star from Frommers and it is harder to get rooms. This is a real class act.
