Pros: This was a great side trip for kids1
Cons: None

Our family went to Crococun Zoo summer of 04. This was an excellent day. We took a cab from the resort and he waited for us. This is on the highway headed back towards Cancun.

When you go hire a tour guide and then give him a nice tip when you're done. He or she will take you through all the different animals or species of monkeys, snakes, crocodiles, deer, boars, turtles and birds that they have.

We brought fruit from the resort to feed the animals. They also sell it there.

Kids will love being able to hold or pet the different animals. They tell you where they got the animals, what they eat, if they're endangered and so on.

I felt it was well worth the trip. Very hands on and informative.

Feel free to ask questions. My children were 2 and 5 at the time. You walk through out the zoo. This may be a little difficult with a stroller.

Pros: Great for kids of all ages
Cons: Can't think of any

We have been to CrocoCun numerous times the last five years with our grandsons. I'm beginning to think that Anna the Macaw knows who we are when we walk in. It is definitely worth a visit whether or not you have children with you.

Do be sure to hire a guide. You will learn so much about the animals indigenous to the Yucatan peninsula. Go and enjoy. It's just north of the Puerto Morelos junction on Hwy 307.

Pros:
Cons:

I took my kids ages 4 and 6 to this little zoo and we had a blast! It was an experience we will not forget. Hands on with mostly all the animals--holding crocs and snakes and lizards, and the monkeys come right to you and eat out of your hands! Our guide was fantastic and helped with the picture taking. I can't say enough positive things about his place. I will definitely return on my next trip to playa!!
