I love this one. Sol is my favorite beach beer, but Modelo is my favorite bar beer. I particularly enjoy it, in the bottle, at Bar Ranita, where they are served extra-super ice cold. Also, I may be wrong about this, but Modelo seems stronger than most beers where alcohol content is concerned.

Is it me or does a cold bottle of Modelo Especial (important to use the full name for this beer, as Modelo is the name of the company that makes it) taste great while a can of Especial taste like a completely different beer alltogether?
I've never come across such a Jekyll and Hyde example in a malted beverage before. If you're not sure, try it yourself and let us know what you found out.

I agree that a cold bottle of Especial is better than a cold can of Especial. In the bottle, it tastes like a high-quality beer. In a can, it tastes cheap. However, it is possible that this is the case with many beers, and that the difference in Especial is just more exaggerated. I generally prefer beer from a bottle than from a can.

I drink this on a hot summer day when it is chilled to a nice 33F....I like it ice cold...It is not my favorite but it works. I drink it with no lime. I feel it has a very light taste like many light beers. It has a clean and refreshing taste that is not bitter at all.

This is a good all around drinking beer. Not filling and tastes great. Like usual its better after it has been sitting in some ice for little while.

Primarily this is a good beer, definetely prefered it bottled to canned, and it's best absolutely ICE cold. But very good for a day on the beach.

Much much better in the bottle

Another great beer by Modelo. It is much better in the bottle. I didn't care much for it at all out of a can. One of my favorite Mexican brews.

I would rank this as the best Mexican beer. I don't care for Corona/Sol as they taste like light beer compared to Modelo Especial
