Pros: nice location, A Team, great staff, perfect size of resort
Cons: beach is rocky, front desk employees were the only ones we thought were less than friendly

Submitted review in forum. Basically loved the resort and consider it our favorite after visiting the Paradisus, the Moon Palace and the Barcelo Maya. The "A"nimation Team was so fun and so fun to watch! We met a lot of nice people and enjoyed the variety of nationalities at the resort.

Pros: everything
Cons: location

we went to the cataloinia july 04 and loved it. the staff was very friendly. the was more to do than we had time for in 7 days. the beach was rocky but as long as i wore my tevas i had no problem. we took many walks to the marina and back and loved the dolphins. the only downside was the resort is a little far from playa. i have recomended it to 3 groups of friends that have gone there and loved it to. we are going back in july 05

Pros: Beautiful grounds, snorkling off beach
Cons: service, food, distance from town

On check in we discovered that our room faced a vacant lot with unfinished concrete construction. Was able to get it changed to a slightly better view but the front staff was neither happy nor pleasant about it. The wait staff at the buffet were not terribly good in my opinion either. While fully expecting buffet food at the buffet, I would rate this even below your usual buffet faire. We only ate in one of the ala carte places (the italian) and the food there was not good either. Beef filet was tough and tasteless.

In it's favor the pools and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The A(nimation) Team are friendly and alot of fun. The beach was very rocky with a fairly large coral reef. This was both a negative and a positive. While it was not great for swimming or cooling off ( I did most of that in the pools), it did provide for some nice snorkling.

We chose it because the price was right, but I would definitely not go back.
