chinaco

Description: "This is the ultimate in handcrafted, low production tequila. The Chinaco Blanco and Aņejo are, in our opinion, head and shoulders above any other tequila available today." Quoted from The Insiders Wine Line Magazine, April-May 1996

When Chinaco arrived in the United States in 1983, it was the first of the super premium positioned tequilas. It's smooth taste earned it placement on back bars alongside high-end cognacs and single malt whiskies. Like a lightening bolt, it electrified an entirely new class of upscale tequila consumer. Chinaco developed a cult following predominantly from California's music and film industry.

Pros: ultra smooth, medium
Cons: choker price, hard to find in Mexico

Definitely one of the finest tequilas bottled even though it is apparently not aged in French sherry barrels anymore. I've turned many people on to this one and the typical comment has been "WOW, I've never had a Tequila that tastes like that !!!"
Like any good sippin Tequila, serve it up ice cold

Pros: Didn't make me gag
Cons: still a little harsh

This tequila wasn't bad... better than Patron, worse than Centenario. Thumbs up.

Pros: Cool Bottle Great Taste
Cons: Its gone to fast

I was lucky enough to get a couple of tastes of this
Exquisite Tequila before it was gone.
(Thanks Scott)
When I first saw the bottle I was quite impressed. It was round and shapely like a beautiful woman. Tan in color like you would get lying on the beaches of Playa. Scott held the bottle like you would hold a good friend that you didn’t want to say goodbye to. It poured out of the bottle like a secret waterfall that you take only your best gal to. As he handed it to me I immediately noticed a pleasant smell not the harsh aroma that most tequilas have. As I drew it closer to my nose for a good sniff I was surprised of its plentiful aroma. An almost sweet aromatic smell that sent chills over my body. I did not want to hinder the experience with salt and lime and boy Im glad I didn’t. With most tequila once it hits your tongue you are almost in an instant gag reflex. Not this, it hits the tongue and you know in a second that you have something very special tantalizing your pallet. A sweet full flavor that stays with you for a couple of minutes. Yes you heard right. The after taste is something to look forward to. Like a sweet peach or a juicy plum. I've tasted a lot of Tequila in my 23 years of drinking, but none like this. It is without question the best Tequila I have ever had. Scott served it chilled and I suggest that you do too.

Pros:
Cons:

I am not a tequila fanatic and have alot to learn about it. Tried a couple of wee shots and found it rather strong for my pallet. It does make you stomp your feet and holler aaiiiyaya. I have been drinking the cheap stuff until Scott educated me about the ill effects of the cheapos. This teqiula has a great buzz and no after effects, especially when drunk in moderation.

A very good tequila...I have enjoyed this one on more than one occasion. I think that it stands up to most other tequila's and I would highly recommend this one to anyone...It has alot of flavor and feels good going down...I prefer all my tequila chilled....

Pros: smooth/family history
Cons:

This is a very nice tequila. My BIL says he has some family history with the original Chinaca people. I'll try and get a little more history next time I see him.
